Data & Account Deletion
Delete your Grow Your Brand account and the data attached to it. This page explains how to request deletion, what we erase, and what we are required to keep.
Effective Date: September 23, 2026 | Last Updated: September 23, 2026
You can ask us to delete your Grow Your Brand ("GYB", "we", "us", or "our") account and the personal data associated with it at any time, for any reason, without giving us one.
This page explains exactly how to do that, what gets erased, what we are legally required to keep and for how long, and what sits outside our control because it lives on a third-party platform such as Instagram, Facebook, or Google. It applies to the GYB web platform at growyourbrand.io and to the GYB mobile apps for iOS and Android.
Deletion is permanent. Once the deletion window closes, we cannot restore your content, your connected accounts, or your history. If you want to keep anything, export it first.
1. How to Delete Your Account
You can request deletion in either of the following ways.
From your account
Sign in at growyourbrand.io or in the GYB mobile app, open Settings → Account → Delete Account, and confirm. You will be asked to re-enter your password so we can verify it is really you. No email to us is required.
By email
Write to info@growyourbrand.io from the email address on the account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Tell us the account email and, if you manage more than one organization, which one you want closed. We will verify your identity before we act on the request.
You do not need an active subscription, and you do not need to reinstall the app, to ask us to delete your data.
2. If You Cannot Sign In or Have Uninstalled the App
Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account or your data. Your account stays open and, if you have a paid plan, billing continues until you cancel it.
If you have lost access to your account, forgotten your password, or already removed the app, email info@growyourbrand.io and we will handle the deletion for you. Because we cannot rely on a password in that situation, we will ask you for other information that only the account holder would reasonably know so we can confirm ownership before deleting anything.
We will never ask you for your password by email, and we will not process a deletion request we cannot tie to the account holder.
3. What Happens Immediately
As soon as a deletion request is verified:
- Your sessions are terminated and you are signed out on every device.
- Your subscription is cancelled and no further charges are made.
- Scheduled posts, queued campaigns, and automations stop running.
- Any access tokens for connected platforms are revoked.
- Team members and sub-users on your organization lose access.
Cancelling a subscription on its own does not delete your account or your data. It only stops billing. If you want your data erased, you have to ask for deletion.
4. What We Delete
When your deletion request completes, we erase the following from our production systems:
Account and identity
- Your name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
- Your password credentials.
- Organization and brand profiles you own, and their settings.
- Team member invitations and role assignments you created.
Content and marketing data
- Drafts, scheduled posts, and your publishing calendar.
- Media you uploaded — images, video, and documents.
- AI-generated content, prompts, and generation history.
- Blog posts and SEO content created in the platform.
- Websites built with the website builder, and their hosting configuration.
- Automations, workflows, and trigger rules.
Engagement and performance data
- Copies of direct messages and comments stored in your Unified Inbox.
- Review and reputation data synced from your Google Business Profile.
- Advertising campaign configuration and performance history held by us.
- Analytics dashboards and generated PDF reports.
- Credit balances and usage history.
Connections
- Access and refresh tokens for every connected platform — see section 7 for detail.
- Integration settings and webhook configuration.
5. What We Retain, and Why
A small amount of data survives deletion because the law requires it or because we need it to protect the platform. We keep the minimum necessary, and we do not use any of it for marketing.
Billing and tax records. Invoices, payment records, and transaction history are retained as required by tax and accounting law in the jurisdictions where we operate. These records are held by us and by our payment processor, Stripe.
Fraud, abuse, and security records. Where an account has been associated with fraud, payment disputes, or abuse of the platform, we retain a limited record so we can enforce our Terms and prevent repeat activity.
Aggregated and anonymized analytics. Statistics that can no longer be linked to you or to your organization may be retained. This data cannot be used to re-identify you.
Backups. Your data may persist in encrypted backups after it has been removed from live systems. Backups are on a fixed rotation and the data is overwritten when that cycle completes. Backups are not used to restore deleted accounts — only to recover from a system failure.
Legal holds. If we are subject to a legal obligation, court order, or active dispute involving your account, we retain what we are required to retain until that obligation ends.
6. What We Cannot Delete
Some data leaves our systems the moment you publish it, and after that it belongs to the platform you sent it to. We can stop managing it. We cannot reach into a third-party service and erase it on your behalf.
- Posts already published.Content published to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, or any other network continues to live on that network. You need to delete it there, using that platform's own tools.
- Google Business Profile content. Listings, posts, and review responses belong to the Google listing itself and remain after you disconnect from GYB.
- Advertising campaigns. Campaigns created through GYB run inside your own Meta Ads or Google Ads account. The campaign history and billing stay with those accounts.
- Messages already delivered. A direct message or comment reply that has already reached its recipient cannot be recalled.
- Blog posts published to an external CMS. Content pushed to a WordPress site or other external system is controlled by that system.
- Registered domains. A domain you purchased through GYB is a registered asset in your name and does not disappear with your account. Contact us before deleting so we can arrange a transfer.
We recommend disconnecting and cleaning up on each third-party platform before you delete your GYB account, while you still have the connections in one place.
7. Connected Accounts and Access Tokens
GYB connects to third-party platforms on your behalf using access tokens you granted when you linked each account. On deletion, we revoke and erase those tokens so we can no longer act on your behalf anywhere.
This covers connections including:
- Meta — Facebook Pages, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp Business, and Meta Ads
- Google — Google Business Profile, Google Ads, and YouTube
- X (Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok, and Pinterest, where connected
- WordPress and other publishing destinations
- Any domain or hosting services provisioned through the platform
Revoking a token removes ouraccess. It does not delete your account on that platform, and it does not remove anything already published there. You can also revoke GYB's access directly from each platform's own app or security settings at any time, whether or not you delete your GYB account.
8. Agency, Multi-Brand, and Client Sub-Accounts
If you run GYB as an agency and manage brands or sub-accounts for your clients, deleting your organization affects your clients' data as well as your own.
Before you delete an agency account, we strongly recommend that you export any reports or content your clients may need, disconnect each client's social and advertising accounts so their access is returned cleanly to them, and tell your clients what is happening and when.
If you need client data transferred to another GYB organization rather than deleted, contact us at info@growyourbrand.io before you submit a deletion request. A transfer cannot be performed after deletion has completed.
If you are a client whose brand is managed by an agency inside that agency's GYB organization, the agency controls that data. Please raise your deletion request with them first. If you cannot reach them, contact us and we will help where we are able to.
9. How Long Deletion Takes
We action verified deletion requests as follows.
- Immediately: sessions are ended, billing stops, scheduled activity is cancelled, and access tokens are revoked.
- Within 30 days: your personal data and content are erased from our live production systems.
- After the backup rotation completes: residual copies in encrypted backups are overwritten.
If we need more time because your request is complex, we will tell you within 30 days, explain why, and give you a revised date. We will confirm by email once deletion has completed.
10. Deleting Specific Data Without Closing Your Account
You do not have to close your account to remove data. From inside the platform you can delete individual posts, drafts, and uploaded media, remove a brand or organization you no longer manage, disconnect any social, advertising, or Google Business Profile account, delete a website or blog you built, and clear stored messages from the Unified Inbox.
If you want a specific category of data erased and cannot do it yourself, email info@growyourbrand.io describing what you want removed. The same verification and the same timelines in section 9 apply.
11. Your Rights by Region
Deletion is one of several rights you may hold over your personal data. Your rights depend on where you live.
United Kingdom and European Economic Area (UK GDPR / GDPR). You have the right to erasure under Article 17, together with rights of access, rectification, restriction, portability, and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA / CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell your personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
India (DPDP Act, 2023). You have the right to erasure of your personal data, alongside rights of access and correction, and the right to nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf.
Everywhere else. We extend the deletion process described on this page to every GYB user, regardless of where you are, whether or not local law requires it.
For the full picture of what we collect and why, see our Privacy Policy, in particular the sections on data retention and your privacy rights.
